Accounting Practice (MAP): April 27, 2022 The Current Landscape of Public Accounting
With COVID’s 3rd Tax Season and the world still a-changing, CPAs are adapting as well as running to catchup on all aspects of firm operations and client service.
Our CA CPA Society’s LA Chapter’s Management of Accounting Practices Committee’s February 23rd meeting was a diverse panel of 5 CPAs. The title was “Position CPA Firms for Great Success: Lessons Learned, A New Approach to the Future”. I was the host and moderator. Topics were almost never-ending:
- Talent development
- Succession
- Helping clients at new levels
- Team, Client, Firm engagement
- Education models for the Future
- Technology and how it’s helping efficiency and productivity
- Tapping into Client Advisory Services as a key service area
- And on and on…
You can read more on these topics as the Panel discussion was recorded and turned into an article, soon to be published in California CPA Magazine—no title as yet.
With such diverse, complex, almost infinite issues to deal with, and the stress that’s almost universal, “What can we do?” is constantly rolling around in our minds. The situation reminds me of the Ghostbusters Lyrics:
“If there’s somethin’ strange in the neighborhood,
Who ya gonna call?”
Well, who better to call to help us tap into what is going on in public accounting than Allan Koltin? Allan is a CPA and nationally-known consultant to the CPA profession. Our Co-Chair, Allan Fisher, reached out to Mr. Koltin for the second time. Allan joined us several years ago with a very dynamic, very insightful window into Succession and Growth for CPAs. Allan Fisher and I have always wanted to have Mr. Koltin come back. April 27th at noon is a perfect time for us all to catch up.
Even if you know of or have not heard of Allan, please see his professional profile below.
