Join us on May 25, 2022, for Los Angeles Chapter – California Society of CPAs and Los Angeles Chapter – Management of Accounting Practices (MAP) Committee for a Special Event—Helping Clients Create, Build or Revise Their Board of Directors.

Our last 2 plus years of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed every aspect of our businesses, careers and personal and public lives.  As businesses adapt and course correct, a paramount activity is the search for new, more effective resources to forecast, plan and implement the most appropriate actions to benefit all stakeholders.

With the need for businesses to change, adapt and grow profitably, CPAs are one of the most valuable service providers to help clients to be and/or find resources they need to meet goals of the business.  A most powerful component of business is the Board of Directors.  Today, it is even more important because of the consistent environment of change.  Areas that Boards address:

  • Assist with internal and external change
  • Help attract new talent and upgraded technologies
  • Shepherd succession needs at all levels
  • Aid in securing a balance of needed knowledge and experience on Board
  • Bring additional decision-making and informational skills to Board dynamic
  • Help assure security of business operations and integrity of data and intellectual properties

CPAs can be the pivotal professional role to assist their clients in development of or expansion/refinement of the Board.

CPAs are vital and central to the process for many reasons; most important is the relationship and trust CPAs and Owners share.  Secondly, knowledge CPAs have is crucial to success of the Board and the business.  On May 25th (12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM, PT), our Panel of 5 Professionals from Legal, Accounting, Banking, Boards of Directors and Investment Banking arenas will open our eyes to growing needs of businesses and potential for CPAs to be of more value with additional service offerings.

Topics will include:

  1. Key Board Responsibilities
  2. Ideal Makeup of the Board
  3. Succession, Merger, Acquisition
  4. Basic Legal Framework
  5. What’s It Like to Be on a Board
  6. How Can CPAs Help?
  7. War Stories: Good, Bad, Better
  8. First Steps
